Hope to see the Bay Area and those visiting out tonight out SKRATCHPAD SF’s 9 year anniversary tonight. There will be free food, cupcakes, and raffles to win a Traktor Kontrol X1 and Innofader! Come early for the open tables at 9pm!

Last week was Skratchpad SF’s 1st night for 2012! DJ Isla opened up. Genie G set it off with the “Mayor of Serramonte”, Derrick D in the house. It was an honor to have these Bay Area legendary DJs present. Genie G played a little bit of everything seamless and clean. He said it was “refreshing to play the good stuff and have people enjoy it—after playing top 40 at other events.” Derrick D thanked Skratchpad SF for “keeping the culture and music alive.” That was a big compliment because he had inspired us to create Skratchpad (as an ode to his past event, Beat Lounge at Club Deco). Jus Jones & Smokestack continued to play the raw ish for the cyphers. The night was packed with B-Boys & B-Girls with a showcase by Forever We Rock & Profowon. And of course, we ended the night with the open tables sesh with beats mixed cleanly by DJs Owlboogie & Primo. Won Way, one of the bays freshest emcees and deejay, grabbed the mic and busted a quick freestyle for Skratchpad SF—off the top. It was pretty much a night of improv Hip Hop steez. All that was missing were the writers! Here’s a glimpse of the party….Hip Hop ya don’t stop! It was the perfect way to set it off for the year. Mark the 1st Wednesdays of the Month at Rockit Room—in your calendar!

Skratchpad SF wrapped up another GREAT year last year! Thanks to all that came out and supported, especially putting in for J-1’s family. Much love to DJs Amerriica, Inkfat, Habit, Traps, Primo, and Max Kane, Mugpush, Teeko, B.Cause, and Secret Sidewalk. It was a beautiful thang! We’ll see you in January 2012, every 1st Wednesdays @ The Rockit Room.
